Just some thoughts about life experiences

It took me a long time to get this game. I have always looked at it in the store....read reviews....but I just could never bring myself to spend the money.

A friend of mine bought it a few months ago...so I asked him if I could borrow it, and check it out. It only took me 20 minutes to realize that I wanted my own copy of the game!!

I then went out last night, and bought it.

Really, there is just something about this game that I cannot put my finger on....The game is so addictive!! I start playing it, thinking I will only play for maybe an hour at the most....then 3 hours later, several ships sacked, sunk or sold....I am forcing myself to back away from the computer...only to find myself once again at the desk playing a pirate.

The game has CHARM. All the pieces work and fit together to make one polished and nicely done package. The sword fights, the sea battles, the dances (although, I still have a difficult time with this)....they all "fit".

Just a fun game...and it is a game that even my wife is interested in playing!!

Loved the original - I tried out the remake on an XBox in the store. It seemed way too arcadish to me, so I passed. Is the PC version different than the console?

I bought that game too and after a week I was disapointed. The gameplay is so repetitive (attack ship, win easily, sell ship, chase 'evil baron' for the 15th time, etc..) that it's hardly any fun after a while.

My favorite aspect are the ground battles when you invade a city.

I absolutely and totally love this game. Oh man, what an exciting remake.

I lost a good week of productivty to Pirates a year or so back. Its frustratingly addictive, like anything with a Sid Meirs prefix, and Im almost never a fan of "mini-games". I want to see "Galactic Pirates" from Stardock.

The ground invasion in Pirates is fantastic. If GC2 had that it would hush a lot of ppl. But yeah, the rest does get repetitive fairly quick.

Oooh, a pirates style ground invasion... oh man.. even if the graphics are only as good as the pirates version that would be absolutely amazing.... as long as the mechanics of the ground combat resembles the Pirates version.

Count me in for one more supporter...
