Just some thoughts about life experiences

So, I bought this game today....I have actually had all the games in the Total War series. This one, by far, is the best yet. Shogun: Total War I thought was great, just because I love the time period and the culture of Japan. Medieval: Total War, for some reason, I was never really able to get into. I liked what it offered, but, nothing seemed to "click" for me in that game (even though I really enjoy reading about Medieval Europe).

So, then...out comes Rome: Total War. A time period that really doesn't interest me as much as the other two games. A game that I went back and forth over getting....how many times did I go to the websites and read about the game? How many reviews did I read? How many times did i almost make it to the counter to buy it, but turned around and put it back on the shelf? Too many to count, that's how many times....

Finally, today, though....I bought it. And I am glad I did.

R:TW has so much more....so much bigger than the first two....and so much easier for me to play.....

So, anyone else pick up this game?

holy crap....in my first real game...i got smacked HARD by the Gauls. They just stormed out from the north, there at the end....no way i was able to hold them all off.

I did win every battle except for the last one. That was when i decided to take a bit of a break. Trying to figure out exactly what I did wrong.....other than trying to do the missions that the Senate kept giving me.....that sucks, cause if you don't do them, the Senate gets pissed at you. But if you do, do them....then you end up spending too many resources and spreading yourself out too thin.

Oh well....better luck next time.
