Just some thoughts about life experiences
I just came across an incredible wrestling table top game called Wrestlings Finest...or, the official name is Tommy Vogel's Wrestling's Finest Table Top Game...or something like that....it can be found here: http://www.geocities.com/tvwf2002/tvwMain.html

Anyways....this is probably the best table top game I have ever played for wrestling fans....incredible attention to detail here. I have run 3 matches using all the rules, and will be posting those matches here shortly.

Here sometime real soon, I will be starting up my own fed, called the Championship Wrestling Association (CWA). The fed will have a timeline from 80's NWA, but the roster will be wrestlers I simply want to use...and how I want to use them. I will basically be "creating" a world....with its own cities and whatnot...I am looking forward to all of this, as I am preparing the fed and all.

If anyone has any questions as to what the game is....just ask me....or, check out the link above....

Chris

These first several matches are matches I want to check out and see how they end up...plus, to get used to the actual game engine. This gem of a wrestling game uses Fast Action Cards (facs), instead of dice....I can only describe it as a random game engine, with the characters being specific....if you have ever played the game, then you would know what I mean by this....

anyways...my first match I held from start to finish was Frank Gotch vs. George Hackenschmidt. These 2 were early pioneers of professional wrestling, and both could go for several hours wrestling on the mat. Here is their encounter in Wrestlings Finest:

Frank Gotch vs. George Hackenschmidt w/ a 60 minute time limit

Frank Gotch vs. George Hackenschmidt (60 minute time limit)

Very cool...I am pretty sure I did all the rules right. It was scientific all the way through, with not one illegal move done. Gotch did get his head slightly cut open after an altercation outside the ring during the 1st 30 minutes. Both men had strong control, trading it back and forth....a few times Hack went for the bear hug, only to have Gotch counter into the toe hold (good stuff there). Finally, after 46 grueling minutes, Frank Gotch scored the pin on Hack via an inside cradle....

Gotch Stam. Off: 252
Hack Stam. Off: 362

(this write up is very simple....starting with my next match, I have began to keep notes as to what happened througout the match)

Ric Flair vs. Sting w/ a 45 minute time limit

These two met at Clash of the Champions I in a 45 minute time limit. The match ended in with the time running out. I wanted to run this match again….could history repeat itself? Or could Sting overcome the arrogant Nature Boy? Or could Ric Flair put the young brash Stinger in his place?

The first 10 minutes saw the Nature Boy use every dirty trick in the book, including throwing a powdery substance into the eyes of Sting. Both men made several mistakes that neither man capitalized on, although Flair nearly got the pinfall after he blinded Sting with the powder.

The next 10 minutes showed just how violent both men could get, as the fight spilt to the outside several times. Flair first slammed Sting into the ring apron, then laid Sting out with a clothesline on the outside, sending Sting crashing to the arena floor. Sting fought back, and hurled Flair through the ropes and onto the hard concrete. For the most part, Flair controlled the pace during the 10 minutes, with Sting able to hit a move here or there.

At the 20 minute mark, the Nature Boy took the clear advantage, landing several kicks, chops and other illegal moves. In an intense series of move-counter-move, Flair attempted to lock Sting into the Figure 4, but Sting countered into a small package, but only got a 1-count. Sting then locked Flair up for a suplex, but “the dirtiest player in the game” countered with a low blow. Right before the 30 minute mark, Sting went on an offensive tear, reeling Flair with power moves mixed with some speed moves.

During the next 10 minutes, Sting was not able to exert total control….but neither could Flair. Sting did keep the pace of the match for the most part, pulling off some great moves, even smashing Flair into the ring post, drawing blood from the Nature Boy’s forehead. The match headed into the final 5 minutes with Sting still in control.

The final 5 minutes was a flurry of offense, as Sting tried to wear down Flair enough to go for the Scorpion Deathlock. After a few power moves, Sting indeed nailed Flair with the Stinger Splash, followed up with the Scorpion Deathlock (Sting used a strategy card). Flair struggled out of the hold, only to become the victim of a Stinger vertical suplex. Sting immediately covered Ric for the pin, but as the referee pounded the mat (1-count), the time keeper rang the bell announcing that time had ran out!!

*After the match, Ric Flair tried to put Sting out of wrestling, but Sting was ready for the assault, and sent Flair running to the locker room

Result: Sting & Ric Flair battled to a 45 minute time limit draw

Ric Flair Stamina Off: 274
Sting Stamina Off: 279

(NOTE: This match started out real slow, as niether man was able to really get control of the match...but it quickly turned into a great fight....and as the time (cards) started ticking down, I moved more and more to the edge of my seat!!)

Ricky Steamboat vs. Randy Savage

This was a replay of their classic Wrestlemania 3 match...one of the best matches I have ever seen...

The 1st 10 minutes was all Steamboat, as he mat wrestled circles around Savage. Not much happened other than a Steamboat wrestling clinic, with Randy Savage playing the part of the student. This caused Savage to become irritated and was distracted by the fans, as he got into a shouting match with some of the fans (Savage wild-eyed shouting & pointing at the fans at ringside).

Somehow, right after the first 10 minutes had passed, Savage gained a vicious advantage, and totally controlled Steamboat, brutalizing Steamboat with flying axehandles off the top, suplexes, and bodyslams. Savage took the fight to the outside, slamming Ricky into the ring post, bloodying Steamboat's mouth. Back inside, Savage took the wind out of Steamboat via a bodyslam, which set up a side suplex by Savage, and the pinfall.

Steamboat Stamina Off: -178
Savage Stamina Off: -112

Result: Randy "Macho Man" Savage pins Ricky Steamboat w/ a side suplex @ 22:30

(Note: Not a bad match....but could have been better. Savage started out VERY slow, getting stomped on, but then turned things around and DOMINATED Steamboat the last 10-12 minutes.)

i am missing something here....

I posted the wrestling matches that I have had using this game.

Is there another way I "should have" used to post?

I wanted each match to have a separate post INSIDE this thread....so I am not sure I understand the problem....
